- How long the school has been in business? Cowichan School of Motoring (CSM) was incorporated in 1977 and has served the Mid-Island region for over 40 years with 2 convenient locations.
- Does the School have an office and classrooms or does it operate out of a private residence? Unlike some, CSM has offices and classrooms in each location with fully licensed instructors for all classes. Our helpful staff can be reached by phone during office hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 to 2:00.
- Is the school licensed? Yes. All Driving Schools and Instructors in BC must be Licensed and Bonded under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act and the Regulations of the Province of BC as well as Licensed and Certified by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC). All licenses are prominently displayed in accordance with the governing regulations.
- Can I see the school's policies? Yes. CSM provides course content, fee schedules and training outlines that can be found either online at http://csm1977.com or in brochure format from one of our offices.
- Does the school use more than one method of instruction? Yes. CSM conducts classroom sessions as well as one-on-one hands on training behind the wheel. Individual tutoring is also available if help is required to prepare for the Learners License.
- How experienced are the Instructors? CSM's Commercial Instructors each average 30 plus years experience in the Commercial Transport Industry while our Class V car Instructors average 25 plus years driving experience. We have a lengthy track record and have earned a respected reputation among industry and in the communities we service.
