20 Hour Government Certified Air Brake Course

To operate vehicles with air brakes on a highway you must have a B.C. drivers license with an air brake endorsement. An air brake endorsement is also required to operate most vehicles equipped with air-over-hydraulic brakes. Note: this does not apply to a vehicle defined as a construction vehicle.
Upon completion of the Air Brake course the student has 90 days to write the knowledge test. After 90 days, the student will be required to re sit the air brake course. The student may attempt the knowledge test three times. After the third fail, ICBC requires the student re sit the 16 hour theory course before trying again.
Certification does not guarantee that ICBC will issue a licence or Air Brake Endorsement. ICBC may require a Certified Trainee to be retested by a Driver Examiner. Note: ICBC will have access to the Trainee's training and assessment records.
